kate arrows enoire

kate arrows enoire is an interdisciplinary artist exploring enshrouded ecological ubiquities as persistent, muted presences within neglected spaces: ghostly survivors of anthropogenic impositions upon land. Cobwebs and their remnants of animals hide chimera of secret conspiracies of resurrection, conjured speciations, and survival in the midst of destruction. The gathering of the tangible remnants of animals and cobwebs present a delicately discernible and liminal space between existence, disintegration, and resilience: a space emblematic of girlhood survival that further serves as a locus for an intimate intercross yielding a resuscitation and becoming with animals. Endeavoring to protect myself and further resurrect myself through an evolution and conversion into a new hereafter species, I align correlative affinities with a sacred and symbiotic collaboration of survival with these animals. Encapsulating the detritus of cobwebs with my own genetic material, I reconstruct and reconnect webs with stitches, embroidering with the intent of embedding my work with the work of the animals. The echoing embroidered lines of cobwebs mimic and confuse my work with theirs, offering a conjecture of the possibilities of the emergence of a new and distinct species upon an animation of the work beyond reality. Challenging and disrupting common ideas of what is sacred and what is forgotten while emblematically examining themes straddling ideas of veneration and secret invisibilities render multilayered narratives contemplating established definitions of death and life. I ponder ideas of discomposure, anxieties, and resentments that simmer beneath crumbling worldly hierarchies while conjuring a new and mutinous arsenal of possibilities for personal survival. Blankets and pillows function as symbols of protection and comfort as I align myself with a sacred and symbiotic collaboration of survival with these animals. I am seeking to unsettle and challenge common perceptions and ideas of life, death, and survival while I aspire to penetrate and appeal to the conscience, sparking reassessments of existential concerns.
